It is a municipality steeped in history, as the old town preserves many historical remains from the medieval period.
This pretty seaside resort has a port and 25 km of beautiful beaches, coves and cliffs, ideal for water activities. Among the most popular beaches are La Grava, Primer Muntanyar and Arenal. The coves of Blanca, Sardinera, Barraca and others offer more tranquillity.
At the foot of Jávea is the Montgó Natural Park and its 753m high mountain range. This protected natural area offers a very high level of biodiversity and there are many possibilities for nature and hiking. Take one of the three hiking trails in Montgó to visit the Cova de l'Aigua, a natural cave full of history with Roman inscriptions.
As in the rest of Spain, Jávea has many local fiestas throughout the year.
The most emblematic of these is the traditional Porrat festival, which is dedicated to the veneration of the saints in order to obtain a good harvest.
Among the most important festivities are also the jazz festival in August and the Christian festivities in July.
With its microclimate, average annual temperature of 18° and 300 days of sunshine per year, Jávea is a pleasant and enjoyable destination all year round.
